qlinkCity of Greater Geraldton Mayor Ian Carpenter today welcomed the first QantasLink jet to land at Geraldton Airport on the new service’s inaugural flight.

“This is a very special day for Geraldton and the community,” he said.

“It reinforces the City’s commitment and strategic investment in the multi-million dollar upgrade of Geraldton Airport.

“This was done in partnership with the State Government, through the Royalties for Regions Regional Aerodrome Development Scheme.

“The City has taken a strong leadership role in driving and supporting the development of tourism in the Geraldton region and we fully intend to maximise the benefits of having QantasLink service the region,” said Mr Carpenter.

Aptly named City of Greater Geraldton, the 74-seat Q400 jet will regularly touch down at Geraldton Airport when the QantasLink service begins today.

Flights will operate from Perth to Geraldton twice a day from Monday to Friday and once a day on Saturday and Sunday.
